Yeah, an new update! No. Not yeah.
Why? Because Amazon has closed ALL known root methods, and due to a lack of developer interest, it is likely that we won't be seeing another root method for a few months. Great.
Oh, remember that Vroot guy? He repackaged the same exploit and lied about it. So that won't work either.
You can block the update by changing the build.prop to show a higher version, but I have not tried as I am no longer rooted. :( As with any modification to the system files, be careful.
